Inntrax™ Twig Crayons are a unique coloring crayon from Poland. What makes these crayons unique is that they are handmade from discarded wooden twigs.
During the winter months, planned areas of mature forests are cleared of underbrush, bushes and small unwanted trees in order to improve the environment for the mature oak and white pine. These small bushes and trees have no commercial value and are often burned on site. Inntrax™ Twig Crayons and Birch Baskets use these small bushes and twigs to make our Twig Crayons.
The branches used to make Inntrax™ Twig Crayons are sorted by wood type and girth, cut to standard lengths and put to store for drying. The most common woods used for Inntrax™ Twig Crayons and our other handcrafted products are birch, willow, ash and elm. In order to create Inntrax™ Twig Crayons, colored crayon material is inserted into each end of the wood. It does not go all the way through so it will not be pushed out the end of the crayon during use. The handsome display baskets are similarly handmade from forest salvage.
